The Past
I picked up a guitar in high school and self-taught my method of music. I started a band a year after high school called Garage Theory and began my journey as a songwriter, singer and guitarist and bassist. Garage Theory was raw emotion, gritty grunge overwhelmingly inspired by Nirvana and specially the musical study of Kurt Cobain’s guitar writing and vocals. The band separated after musical differences and tragedy after losing best friend and drummer.
I started a new band Why Not Naked this one more mature but fuelled by raging screams and sad moans of past and current life at the time. Gigs, photoshoots, videos, EP recordings, battles of the bands and radio interviews, I began to grow as a musician exposed to the different lightings of the music industry.
Today
As students, we often live reckless lives, I prove that we are not in fact as invincible as we’d like to believe. A few years back I was one of four in the vehicle that crashed. I was the only one who suffered serious injury to my neck and spine, despite not having been the driver. My fans and friends feared that I would never be able to play an instrument again.
As a result of the accident I lost nearly all hand function, breaking my neck and severing my spinal cord. I gave up. Then I saw Mervyn Davis guitar building for quadriplegics. So here I am with the Slipperyjack revolutionary instrument. I started writing and singing again and reached a new state of mind and view on musical energy.
